Born and bred in sunny Southern California, Steph spent her childhood playing outdoors. Much to her mother’s chagrin, Steph often came home from elementary and middle school with tattered shoes or grass stains on her clothes from playing kickball, football, or basketball with the boys.
In high school, Steph was on the Varsity basketball and track & field teams, and found a true competitive passion for long and triple jumping. In 2005, Steph became the Division III Southern Section CIF long jump champion, but she ultimately decided to focus on school full-time rather than pursuing a collegiate track & field career.
After graduating from NYU in 2010, Steph came back to Los Angeles to work in music tech. Searching for a way to relax and reset after working long startup hours, Steph found CrossFit in 2012 and hasn’t looked back. Steph became a member of Depot CrossFit in 2015 and considers the gym her second home. She loves teaching new members about the merits of CrossFit and watching people surprise themselves when they accomplish new things.
